Muskat // මස්කට් // மஸ்கட்

A glossy, chewy, and gelatinous traditional Sri Lankan sweetmeat cut into diamond or rectangular blocks, flavored with cardamom, rose water, and ghee, and garnished with cashews.
Origin
Named after the Omani capital city of Muscat, it is the Sri Lankan adaptation of traditional Omani Halwa (Halwa Maskatia), introduced through historical Arab maritime trade across the Indian Ocean and popularized across Sri Lanka's festive confectionery traditions.
